Gladwell Sanitarium, Exterior

In December of 1963, Percival, Bunny and Ophelia Pennfield rushed up to Gladwell Sanitarium in Western Massachusetts to put Ship under the care of Dr. Emilio Hazard, one of the world’s top experts in schizophrenia. Percival Pennfield became a major benefactor, insisting the institution’s name be changed to Gladwell Institute of Mental Health Sciences.
